It's been a couple of weeks now since the release of Glory Revealed II. How are you all enjoying your copies of the CD? I know I am loving it. It's my Sunday morning getting ready for church music, although I listen to it at other times, too. The music in GRII feels like I am sitting on the porch of a cabin in the Smoky Mountains, and friends are sitting around playing and singing. Not that I have any first hand experience in such things (unfortunately), but that is where my mind goes when I listen.

Photography Contest - Win Art Prints/Third Day Retro Pack

Every year, Third Day message boards moderator Jason Mitchener holds a photography contest in the Creative Arts forum of the boards. This year's contest is starting soon and is open to anyone with a camera!

Each round of the contest will feature photos of a specific subject:

Board members will vote for the photo they like best. The winner of each round of the contest will receive one of Jason's art prints and be entered in a drawing for the grand prize at the conclusion of the contest.

Dove Awards Pre-show

I'm here at The 40th Gospel Music Association Dove Awards! We like to sit up in the balcony, because we can see all the artists in the floor. I don't see Third Day yet, but here is DecembeRadio sitting right behind The Blind Boys of Alabama, who are all in blue.

I will try to keep this up, but no promises. :)

Third Day - Live Revelations DVD/CD!

Third Day's new DVD Live Revelations, as the cover promises, features the band On Stage, Off Stage, and Backstage. It gives you a pretty good idea of what it's like to be on tour with Third Day, what they go through on a daily basis with planning, rehearsing, performing, meeting fans, and just hanging out.

This is Third Day's sixth DVD and like Live Wire, includes a CD of the live songs featured on the DVD. I like that, because you only get to watch the DVD when you get the chance to be home in front of your computer or TV, but you can listen to music anywhere! So get in the car and crank up Third Day live! (That's where I like to listen to music best, mostly because I can sing my heart out and not hurt anyone's ears.)

Another thing I like about this DVD/CD set is that it was recorded during the Music Builds Tour in different cities including Raleigh, North Carolina, Nashville, Tennessee, the boys hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, and my hometown, Houston, Texas. So you get an idea of what the show looked like on several different nights.

Revive CD Release Party & Free Concert! Win a Pre-release Copy!

If you've seen Third Day in the past year or so, you've most likely seen Australian band Revive open for them. Third Day brought them back from Australia, and are sort of showing them the American music machine ropes.

 Revive's new CD, Chorus of the Saints comes out this Tuesday, March 10! (Mac Powell produced the CD!) To celebrate, Third Day is throwing them a little party, and if you are in the Atlanta area, you are invited!

This is a very cool, very exciting FREE concert with Jars of Clay, Brandon Heath, and Revive, hosted by Third Day! And after the concert, you can see a preview of Third Day's new DVD Live Revelations! Click the poster to the left for details.

My Favorite Christmas Things Contest #2!

One of my very favorite Christmas memories took place about ten years ago. It was the day after Christmas. All the hub-bub of Christmas was over, and my family and I had time to sit by the fire and enjoy the the season. It was beautiful, and so peaceful. We read through the Christmas cards and letters, and watched all of these Christmas stories on Christian television. I think they were episodes of an old show called "This is the Life" that I used to watch when I was a kid on Sunday mornings as I got ready for church, but I can't be sure. But I just enjoyed that day so much, because I had the time to enjoy it. I try to have a time like this one day during the week after Christmas every year.

So for our second My Favorite Christmas Things  contest, I'm giving away a copy of one of my favorite Christmas movies for you to watch after Christmas when you have time to really enjoy it, and every Christmas after that. It's called "My Christmas Soldier" and it is narrated by Third Day's own Mac Powell. You will love this sweet little movie which also stars fellow Gomer Jeff Rose.  Read about "My Christmas Soldier" here. Of course, while you are watching this movie, you will need a nice soft blanket to curl up under, so I'm including a Gomer-orange Rockstar blanket. Oh, and did I mention that I've had Mac Powell autograph this copy of the movie? That makes it even more special!

A Few of My Favorite Things - Contest!

These are a few of my favorite things...*

If I were to list some of my favorite things, they would include a nice soft blanket to cuddle up on the couch with, a good movie to watch, and great music to listen to. So I thought I'd run a couple of contests and share some of my favorite Christmasy things with my fellow Gomers.

There has been a lot of voting going on lately! Many of you have done your country a great service and voted in the Presidential election. Many more of you (because there is no age limit to vote in this instance) have voted for Third Day to win the American Music Award. For that, Third Day, all the other Gomers, and I thank you! And now it's time to choose a winner in my Vote for Third Day contest.

I counted comments (there were 40, but only your first comment counts and a couple comments were mine, which brings it to 35 unique comments) and put the number into my handy-dandy random number picker, which came up with the number 29. I've been talking a lot about the Music Builds Tour Habitat for Humanity contest. It's all over now. We collected $3,265.00 to help build homes for people who don't have what most of us take for granted, shelter. And we have two winners! Congratulations to Tracey and Jenna! Tracey raised $735, and Jenna  raised $585! I think it's very cool that Tracey is a Third Day fan and a Gomer, and Jenna is a Switchfoot fan and a Friend of the Foot!
