As you are watching the pre-telecast part of the GRAMMYs on www.GRAMMY.com/Live, every time Third Day, or any of your other favorite artists wins an award, make a donation by texting the word “HAITI” to 40579 on your mobile phone. Your $10 donation will be added to your phone bill. (Standard text messaging rates may apply.)

Your donation will go to the NRB's (National Religious Broadcasters) Haiti Relief Fund. They’re working with NRB member organizations like Compassion International, Samaritan’s Purse, and Operation Blessing, who are qualified to bring both material help and spiritual hope to those in need. And it couldn't be easier than to give by texting!

This Sunday is the GRAMMY Awards. Third Day is nominated for three! In one single night, they could double their number of career GRAMMY Awards, going from three to six! And I believe they will.

Third Day has already challenged us to help Haiti through World Vision. I think I know how we can do that and celebrate their GRAMMY wins at the same time.

Third Day Challenges Fans to Come Together to Help Haiti

Dear friends,

By now, you've heard the news and seen the graphic images and video of the unbelievable destruction in the nation of Haiti. 

In times like this, we must rise up to be the hands and feet of Christ.  We have no doubt that many of you, individually and collectively through your local churches, will respond to this challenge in significant ways in the coming weeks.  However, this is an emergency situation, and there is no time for delay.

Third Day has decided to make a $20,000 donation from our COME TOGETHER fund to World Vision's Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund.  We have seen firsthand the amazing work that World Vision does around the world.  They are first call responders to these kind of disasters, and will immediately maximize our dollars to care for those suffering in this difficult time. 

We would like our donation to serve as a challenge.  We invite you, as Third Day fans and a community of believers, to match our donation to help our brothers and sisters suffering in Haiti today.

We hope that you will keep the people of Haiti in your prayers, but we also hope that you will be part of God's answer to their prayers as well.

Third Day - Live Revelations DVD/CD!

Third Day's new DVD Live Revelations, as the cover promises, features the band On Stage, Off Stage, and Backstage. It gives you a pretty good idea of what it's like to be on tour with Third Day, what they go through on a daily basis with planning, rehearsing, performing, meeting fans, and just hanging out.

This is Third Day's sixth DVD and like Live Wire, includes a CD of the live songs featured on the DVD. I like that, because you only get to watch the DVD when you get the chance to be home in front of your computer or TV, but you can listen to music anywhere! So get in the car and crank up Third Day live! (That's where I like to listen to music best, mostly because I can sing my heart out and not hurt anyone's ears.)

Another thing I like about this DVD/CD set is that it was recorded during the Music Builds Tour in different cities including Raleigh, North Carolina, Nashville, Tennessee, the boys hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, and my hometown, Houston, Texas. So you get an idea of what the show looked like on several different nights.

Prayer & Fasting for a MercyMe Baby

 Sophie is the sweet little newborn daughter of MercyMe's lead singer, Bart Millard. She was taken to the Emergency Room on January 24th with RSV, a respiratory illness that is particularly dangerous for infants. According to Bart, she is not getting better as fast as they would like. Today she was moved to the ICU.

I propose that we Gomers pray for Sophie until she is better. Kelly aka EyeHeart3D on the boards, suggested that tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, we fast on Sophie's behalf. (You do not have to fast food. You can give up anything such as TV, your social networking, chocolate, anything.) I think that is what Christian community is all about, coming together in times of need like this.

Please help The Myriad drummer Randy Miller

Some of you may have seen Christian rock band The Myriad when they played with Third Day or the David Crowder*Band. Right now, they are going through a crisis. Their drummer, Randy Miller has cancer. He has no insurance, and he has a wife and two children.

Third Day is playing a benefit for Randy on December 7, at Friends church, 5211 Lakeview Ave, Yorba Linda, California 92866. Tickets are on sale at www.ticketforce.com.

You can help Randy and his family by giving to the fund that has been set up. Every little bit helps.

Watch Third Day (and some of us Gomers) on the Broadcast of the Houston "Music Re-Builds Tour"

When the Music Builds Tour came to Houston on October 3, it was more than just another stop on the tour. The Houston/Galveston area was devastated by Hurricane Ike on September 13, 2008, and as they have done so many times in the past, Third Day came prepared to help. They turned the Music Builds Tour into the Music Re-Builds Tour to help raise money for hurricane victims. Television cameras were there to record the show. The audio portion was broadcast live on KSBJ radio and on their website (for a while, until they had technical difficulties that forced the live feed to cease). And this Friday, you can watch the entire Music Re-builds show, including interviews with some of the Gomers that were there. Here is the information you need to watch, either on TV in the Houston area, or on KSBJ's website.
 
Mayor Bill White and 89.3 KSBJ Special Events Partner To Raise Funds for Hurricane Ike Victims

HOUSTON (November 10, 2008) – To help those affected by Hurricane Ike and raise funds for Mayor Bill White’s Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund, the “Music Re-Builds Tour” Houston concert featuring Christian artists Third Day, Switchfoot and Robert Randolph & the Family Band will be re-broadcast Friday, November 14^th at 7 p.m. (CST) on HTV, HCCTV and Comcast (CH 76) as well as via webstream from www.ksbj.org.  Following the successful live performance at the Berry Center on October 3, the concert broadcast will encourage viewers and listeners to help those in need by calling 713-276-3901, visiting www.ksbj.org and mailing a donation to the Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund, c/o The Greater Houston Community Foundation, 4550 Post Oak Place, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77027.

The televised broadcast, produced by HTV Houston and HCCTV, offers a hopeful message from Mayor Bill White along with an evening of live Contemporary Christian music, testimonies from relief organizations and messages of support from Houston celebrities such as the Astros and Houston Texans.

“The Music Re-Builds benefit concert in Houston is taking on new meaning as all the bands involved are eager to help those who suffered from Hurricane Ike by raising funds for the relief effort.  We are grateful for the opportunity to do something much bigger than rock and roll, to partner with Houston music fans to make a difference in the community,” said Chad Butler with Switchfoot.

"The people of Houston showed incredible generosity in their support for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. It is an honor to do all we can to help the City of Houston in their hour of need," commented Tai Anderson from Third Day.

Bid on Mark Lee's Guitar - Help a Couple Adopt a Child

Some friends of Mark and Stephanie Lee, the Cowens, are in the process of adopting a baby. As you might know, it costs a lot of money to adopt. In order to help their friends, Mark is putting one of his own personal guitars up for auction. Not only is this one of Mark's own guitars, it has the Third Day Chronology logo, and it's been autographed by all of the guys in Third Day! Come bid on the guitar, and help a couple become a family!
