Third Day: Move Third Day's newest released on October 19, 2010. Their last CD, Revelation, asked the question, "Tell me should I stay here, or do I need to move?" This CD answers that question, "MOVE"! And this collection of Third Day songs will inspire you to do just that.

I got an email from someone who wanted to show a friend a page of Third Day's website that is no longer there. Fortunately, I happen to have a copy of the text of that page. That gave me the idea to sort of recreate two pages of Third Day's former webpages: Wherever You Are - Songs Explained by Third Day and Revelation - Songs Explained by Third Day So if you've ever wondered what they were thinking when they wrote "I Will Always Be True" or what the real meaning behind "How Do You Know" is, click on over and read what the guys themselves have to say about the songs.
Wow, it is never a good idea for me to be off-line for more than a day or so. I've been doing Hurricane Ike clean up, and getting my house ready for company next week. Between that and having limited time online during our evacuation to San Antonio, I haven't really spent any quality time online in a couple of weeks. I popped on today to set up a lunch for us Gomers to meet before the Dallas Music Builds Tour show (If you are in the area, come join us!). I started perusing the boards and wow, do I have a lot of catching up to do! I need one of those days where I get out of bed, log on, and just sit there all day long, in my pajamas, only leaving the computer long enough to fill up the coffee cup or get something chocolate. (We girls like to have days like that from time to time.) Maybe this Monday.
But here's something awesome. Third Day's Christmas Offerings DVD is coming out October 7! You can pre-order it now. They filmed at the San Antonio, and Houston shows. My husband, Dan, was hoping that he would show up on the DVD. Well, I watched the clip on ThirdDay.com, and low and behold, there he is! (with me and my friends Debbie and Lori standing with him.) You can see us at the 0:36 mark on the clip. And THAT is yet another reason we Gomers wear orange, so you can find us easily on the DVD's!
There's a thread on the boardswherein people are sharing the dreams they've had involving Third Day. (Mac even replied to the thread.) I don't usually dream about Third Day, but last night I did, and it was bizarre. Well, the dream itself wasn't so bizarre, but just the way my brain took a little tiny fact, created this whole scenario around it, and presented it to me in a dream. I thought you might find it amusing, too.
So in this dream, my husband Dan, son Asher, two friends Debbie and Lori, and I are at a huge church to see Third Day. It's before the show and Debbie and I are running around lost in this church. The line at the ladies room was too long. Debbie had gone to this church before and found another one for us to use, and now we were trying to find our way back to where the concert was held. So we're running around lost, worried that we'll miss the beginning of the show, and we see Tai Anderson. Well, we don't want him to think we are where we aren't supposed to be, but we figure that he will be going back to the concert area, so we decide to stealthily follow him. (In real life, I would have just asked him to point us in the direction of the concert!) So we're ducking around corners, trying not to let him see us. And then Debbie figured out where we were, and that we could get where we needed to be if we went through the nursery/school area.
I just want to take this moment to say hello to my friend Marjan VandenBrink. Everytime I check that cool little map to the right that tells me where in the world my readers are, there is always one flag up there in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and I know that's Marjan. So I just want to take this moment to thank Marjan for being a faithful reader and Gomer!
In case you haven't seen these, either on ThirdDay.com or during the tour, I thought I'd post them here for you. These videos played on the big screen behind Third Day during the Christmas Offerings Tour. It's not too late to enjoy a little Christmas! And it's never too late for some Third Day!!!
I found this comic online a couple of weeks ago. (Click it to see it bigger.) I don't even remember where I found it. It is profound in it's simplicity. I think if we aren't careful, we can live our lives like this, looking forward to special times, and then living on those memories once it's over. Remember to make everyday special in some little way, for yourself, and for others.
In my church home group, we are following a study called An Ordinary Day with Jesus. This week, we talked about relationships and training ourselves to love others. The key word here is "training". It makes a lot of sense. Many times we hear a message from the pulpit and we think, "From now on, I'm going to be more like Jesus." But we fail within the first week, because we don't train. You would not expect yourself to run a marathon just because you decided to, neither would you give a man a badge and gun and say, "There. You are now a policeman." No, to be successful in anything, you must train, so that little by little, you will develop the habits necessary for the change. Loving others is the same thing. You cannot say, "Tomorrow, I will love everyone I see." Where would you start? What would you do? Dallas Willard says, "To train means to arrange my life around activities I can do that will enable me, over time, to do what I cannot do by direct effort (trying) alone." The book suggests three training exercises to help you become a loving person, following the example Jesus set in the way He loved people.
